Isopropyl Alcohol
Fast-evaporating isopropyl alcohol in multiple concentrations and grades for cleaning, processing and formulation applications.
Isopropyl Alcohol
Isopropyl alcohol, commonly called IPA or isopropanol, is a fast-evaporating, colorless solvent used across industrial, commercial, laboratory, electronics, healthcare, and manufacturing applications. It is effective for cleaning and degreasing surfaces, removing oils, fingerprints, adhesives, inks, and light residues, and preparing components before assembly, coating, or bonding. Common applications include cleaning electronics and precision parts, manufacturing cosmetics and personal-care products, producing disinfectants and sanitizing solutions, and serving as a solvent or processing aid in chemical formulations. Isopropyl alcohol is available in several concentrations and purity grades, including 70%, 91%, 99%, USP, technical, and electronics-grade products, allowing users to select the appropriate water content and specifications for their application.
The best concentration depends on the intended use: higher-purity IPA generally evaporates faster and is often preferred for electronics, precision cleaning, and water-sensitive processes, while properly formulated 70% solutions are commonly used for sanitizing because their water content slows evaporation and supports surface contact. Isopropyl alcohol is highly flammable, and concentrated vapors may cause irritation, dizziness, or other adverse effects. It should be stored in tightly closed, compatible containers away from heat, sparks, flames, oxidizers, and ignition sources, with suitable ventilation, grounding and bonding, eye protection, and chemical-resistant gloves. Users should review the product specifications and Safety Data Sheet to confirm the correct concentration, grade, material compatibility, and regulatory suitability for their intended application.
