Ethanol 190 Proof GNS

190 Proof Ethanol GNS, commonly called Grain Neutral Spirits, is a beverage-grade ethyl alcohol containing approximately 95% alcohol by volume and 5% water. It is typically distilled from fermented grains such as corn, wheat, rye, or barley and refined to achieve a clean, neutral flavor and aroma. Within the beverage industry, 190 Proof GNS is widely used as the alcohol base for vodka, gin, liqueurs, cordials, ready-to-drink cocktails, and other distilled-spirit products. Its high purity and neutral sensory profile allow manufacturers to develop the desired flavor through dilution, botanical infusion, blending, sweetening, aging, or the addition of natural flavors without unwanted characteristics from the base alcohol.

Before bottling, 190 Proof GNS is normally diluted with treated water to the finished beverage’s specified alcohol concentration. Product quality can depend on the source material, distillation process, water quality, organoleptic characteristics, and compliance with applicable identity and purity specifications. Because it is potable alcohol, its production, purchase, transportation, storage, processing, labeling, and taxation are closely regulated, and buyers may need appropriate federal and state permits. Manufacturers should confirm the spirit’s grain source, allergen documentation, kosher or other certifications, country of origin, analytical specifications, and suitability for the intended beverage before use.
